About this service
Why Choose Our Safety Flooring?
Safety flooring is a slip-resistant vinyl with grit worked through the wear layer, so it grips even when it is wet. It is a non-negotiable in commercial kitchens, care homes, schools and healthcare settings, and it is increasingly what people want at home too: in family bathrooms, wet rooms, utility rooms and any house where somebody is unsteady on their feet. We fit it either way, fully welded and heat-sealed with cap-and-cove hygienic skirting, giving a completely impervious surface that is slip-resistant, chemical-resistant and easy to clean. Very few flooring fitters in Norfolk take this work on. It is one of the things we are known for.

Frequently Asked Questions
Cap-and-cove is a finishing technique where the safety flooring is turned up the wall and sealed with a coved skirting. This creates a seamless, hygienic junction between the floor and wall essential in food preparation and healthcare environments where bacteria could harbour in corners.
Commercial kitchens, care homes, schools, hospitals, warehouses and industrial facilities, and just as often domestic bathrooms, wet rooms, utility rooms and downstairs loos. Any environment that needs slip resistance, hygiene compliance or chemical resistance.
Yes, and more people are asking for it. The obvious places are the bathroom, wet room and utility, where a wet floor is a genuine hazard. It is also worth fitting anywhere in the house if somebody is unsteady on their feet, recovering from surgery, or living with a condition that affects their balance. Modern safety vinyl comes in wood and stone effects, so it does not have to look like a hospital corridor.
No. The old speckled grey sheet is still available, but the current ranges include wood plank, stone and concrete effects with the grit worked into the wear layer rather than sitting on the surface. From standing height most people cannot tell it apart from ordinary vinyl. We bring samples out so you can see and feel the difference before committing.
They overlap but they are not the same job. Safety flooring is the material: a slip-resistant vinyl. A wet room floor is a construction: the floor is formed to fall towards a drain, tanked underneath, and the covering is welded and coved up the walls. We usually use safety flooring to build a wet room floor, but you can fit safety flooring in a normal bathroom without it being a wet room.
Welding uses a hot-air gun to fuse the flooring sheets together at the seams, creating a single continuous surface. Unlike adhesive-only seams, a welded seam is 100% watertight and cannot lift or separate over time.
This depends on the area size and complexity. A typical commercial kitchen (30–60 m²) usually takes one to two days. We work around your operating schedule to minimise downtime.
Yes for businesses that can't close during the day, we can arrange evening or weekend installations. We discuss this at the survey stage.
